Ice work if you can get it
As the mercury rose across Hampshire this week one business leader made it his personal mission to help staff keep cool.
Nigel Taylor, founder and managing partner of Taylor Made Computer Solutions, arranged for an ice cream van to visit the company’s headquarters in Fareham on Thursday and even rolled up his sleeves to serve up the sweet treats.
Employees from the IT firm were treated to free 99s, oysters and lollies as part of the company’s continuing mission to have the happiest workforce in Hampshire.
Nigel said: “I’m not sure I’ll be taking up a second job as an ice cream man any time soon. Pulling the perfect 99 is harder than it looks! It was great fun though and another example of how we as a company go the extra mile to keep staff happy and motivated.”
Employee Chris Thompson said: “It’s been an unusually hot week for May so the free ice cream was very much a welcome treat. It’s little things like this that brighten your working day and Taylor Made is really good for that.”
The free ice cream came as Taylor Made put on a variety of activities to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.
Other initiatives included gaming, colouring in, free fruit and decaffeinated drinks and exercise challenges. As well as putting wellness in the spotlight, the week included fundraising for The Moving On Project in Fareham.
