With Gatwick Airport looking ahead with the launch of the Masterplan, here are some of the latest news highlights

Noise and Airspace

  • The joint Gatwick Airport Ltd and Noise Management Board (NMB) annual public meeting is to be held on 5th December 2018 at the Sofitel Hotel, North Terminal, Gatwick Airport.  All the information is on the Gatwick Airport and NMB webpages which you can access here


  • London Gatwick has announced that the airport has achieved over four million passengers in the month of October for the first time ever. Passenger numbers grew +2% versus October 2017. The airport’s long-haul connections continue to grow and were +12.4% in the month whilst Gatwick’s cargo tonnage grew +1.6%. More …
  • Gatwick will offer more flights to the home of Father Christmas than any other UK airport this winter – with a total of 120 flights bound for Lapland in December. Six destinations in and around the Lapland region can all be reached direct from Gatwick. In comparison, the UK airport with the second highest number of Lapland services in December is offering a third fewer flights than Gatwick.  More…


  • Gatwick announced the latest round of Gatwick Foundation Fund grants to five projects across Sussex, seven projects in Surrey and six Kent-based projects that support young people, the elderly or vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.

The Fund distributes a total of £300,000 in grants with the funding split evenly between projects in Sussex, Surrey and Kent, with each receiving £100,000 each year.  To date, 118 organisations and more than 55,000 people have benefited from the Fund since it was launched late in 2016. 

  • Gatwick’s partnership with the Bonham’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run - supported by Hiscox - brought the event to Crawley High Street for the third year in a row, helping support town centre businesses by encouraging thousands of residents and visitors to attend.  More…
  • Over 1500 jobs were on offer – from almost 50 employers – at the recent Gatwick Job Fair at the Arora Hotel in Crawley.  To support job seekers a video pod was available to practice and build confidence at interviews, head chefs demonstrated food preparation to showcase careers in catering and a fashion show displayed affordable recycled clothing to show how dressing to impress can be done on a budget.  More…
